SPEAKER_01

Thank you, Madam Clerk.

Colleagues, thanks again for joining the Select Budget Committee meeting today.

Today we will have a briefing and discussion on the initial balancing package as released and posted online this morning.

All of the materials are available, including attachments that will include legislative complementary pieces as well as the slides.

If there's no objection, today's agenda will be adopted.

Hearing no objection, the agenda is adopted.

Colleagues, I want to make sure that we announce for members of the public that we are going to go into recess at this time.

The purpose of this recess is to allow for any of the folks on campus here to attend the public rally that is being held here at City Hall organized by the Ingram High School students in their call for ending gun violence in schools.

For those who are interested in joining the Ingram High School students and the broader student community and as community at large who've gathered here today, there is the opportunity to gather as we speak along 4th Avenue on City Hall's plaza to support the students.

Their rally begins at 11.30 AM.

If there is no objection, the Select Budget Committee will be in recess, and we will plan to convene around 1 p.m.

If we need to extend it, I'll make sure to pop in and do so.

If there's no objection, the Select Budget Committee will recess until 1 p.m.

Hearing no objection, the meeting is in recess, and we plan to reconvene at 1 p.m.

If we need additional time, I'll make sure to jump in and announce that at that time.

Thank you, colleagues.

We'll see you this afternoon.
