SPEAKER_02

My name is Isabel Massoudi.

I'm also really excited to be a student representative on the board this year and to work with all the other student representatives and board members and to serve the diverse voices of the students of the Seattle Public Schools.

SPEAKER_03

and Director Yoon.

SPEAKER_00

Good afternoon, everyone.

My name is Sabi Yoon, and I'm a senior at Ballard High School.

I'm truly honored to serve as a student board member this year representing my peers and the entire SPS student body.

I had the privilege of serving as a student board member last year, and while it was a very rewarding experience, it also came with its challenges.

Last year was only the third cohort of student board members and we were still developing the program.

However, we had amazing support from mentors like Julia and also the passionate students from the student board member cohort last year who were able to work together and collaborate and we were able to navigate through challenges together and build onto the preexisting foundation of this vital program.

Through my first year, I learned a lot of things, but just one takeaway I would like to share with everyone is that making a difference doesn't always mean making a big change, which is something we all wanna see.

um making a difference can be found in the small things like listening and supporting each other and just creating or in making a safe space for students to share their ideas which can be actually quite scary um i'm really excited to use my experience from last year to help the student board members this year and also the incoming student board members next year to grow as leaders and also continue to support every SPS student in this district to grow and thrive in a supportive environment.

Thank you.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you, Director Yoon, and I know I speak on behalf of all of our directors.

We really look forward to working with you all and making a positive impact for students.

We're going to adjourn this meeting, but I am going to ask for board directors, students, and other board directors for we're going to do a group photo up here so don't go too far after we um after we adjourn and then we will have a little bit of celebration so as there being no further business on the agenda the meeting stands adjourned at 3 45 pm thank you I really did mean.

It's hard to wrangle everyone.

We'll come back up to the stage here for a photo.
